Behavioral Health Technician 1 at George Junior Republic – Grove City, Pennsylvania

Summary of the Position: The Behavioral Health Technician 1 is the primary childcare personnel for the Special Needs/Intensive Supervision/ and Diagnostic Facilities. This position is designed to provide the daily services of safety, security and structure to the persons served. The care, custody and supervision of the persons served are the primary concerns of the job.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensure safety and security of youth served
2. Monitor persons served at all times
3. Promote positive behaviors and redirect negative behaviors of persons served
4. Teach and model appropriate social behaviors, teach life skills, provide a minimum of one hour of life space counseling per youth served per week.
5. Attend treatment team meetings
6. Meet documentation requirements
7. Provide physical security using passive physical restraint
8. Support the National School Lunch Program through food service, maintaining cleanliness, and documentation

Lifting Requirements

Must be able to perform safety procedures as needed. Procedures may require lifting up to 50 pounds.

Physical Requirements

Must pass physical and be able to physically restrain persons served when necessary.

Work Location: This position is required to work at various locations, both inside and outside and across campus.

Education and Experience: Associate's degree required; experience working with similar population preferred but not required; basic knowledge of Microsoft applications.
