Canoe Brook Country Club

Position Summary

The Communications Manager is responsible for the development, execution, and management of all club communications, ensuring a consistent, polished, and engaging voice across all platforms. This role serves as the central hub for member and employee facing communication and storytelling, supporting the Club’s mission to deliver an exceptional and connected member and employee experience.

Operating as a highly collaborative, independent contributor, the Communications Manager partners with all departments to promote club programming, enhance member engagement, and uphold Canoe Brook’s brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

Communications Strategy & Execution

  • Own and execute the Club’s comprehensive communications plan across email, digital, print, and on-property channels
  • Develop and maintain a consistent voice, tone, and visual identity reflective of Canoe Brook’s brand
  • Manage the editorial calendar to ensure timely, accurate, and strategic communications

Content Creation & Member Engagement

  • Write, edit, and distribute quarterly newsletters, club updates, and event promotions
  • Create compelling content that highlights club life, programming, and member experiences
  • Partner with all Club departments to gather content and promote initiatives
  • Support storytelling initiatives including photography, video, and feature content

Digital Platforms & Systems

  • Maintain and update the Club website and mobile app
  • Manage email marketing platforms and distribution lists
  • Oversee social media channels with a focus on engagement and brand alignment

Marketing & Club Support

  • Design and produce marketing collateral, including flyers, signage, and digital assets
  • Support membership efforts through prospective member materials and onboarding communications
  • Assist in promoting major club events, seasonal programming, and capital or strategic initiatives

Brand Stewardship

  • Ensure consistency and quality across all communications and visual materials
  • Serve as the internal resource for communication standards, formatting, and messaging

Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Track engagement metrics (email open rates, event participation, digital interaction)
  • Refine communication strategies based on performance and member feedback

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in communications, marketing, hospitality, or a related field
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Experience with email marketing platforms and social media management
  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, iMovie) preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Work Environment

  • Professional, fast-paced private club environment
  • This position will be responsible for capturing photos/videography at Club events. Requires flexibility to support club communications tied to evenings, weekends, and key events.
