About This Position

Radiation Therapist

  • POSITION PURPOSE
    • Performs therapeutic radiation therapy procedures. Performs other related duties such as patient education, verifying charges, and overseeing and coordination on-site services. In addition, performs special radiographic procedures in accordance with department and system policies and procedures. Work assigned hours as well as taking on-call rotations.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
    • Associate's Degree: Radiation Therapy
    • Bachelor's Degree in Radiation Therapy preferred.
  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
    • Entry Level
  • LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T) registered, as a Radiation Therapist
    • Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
    • Wisconsin state license as applicable.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
    • Safely performs the planned course of radiotherapy utilizing the linear accelerator and simulator keeping principles of radiation protection i.e. ALARA for patient, self, and others.
    • Utilizes imaging technologies for the purpose of simulation, treatment planning, and treatment delivery as prescribed by a radiation oncologist.
    • Reviews and verifies treatment plans and prescriptions prior to being implemented in the treatment room.
    • Maintains accurate records of the patient’s treatment regimen.
    • Evaluates, recommends, and implements treatment procedures.
    • Participates in treatment documentation and quality assurance monitoring
    • Educates patients about therapy procedures and side effects.
    • Participates in departmental performance improvement activities

      Salary Range: $35.00 to $55.00/hr (based on experience)
