Job Description

Astatine Limited is a specialised energy company focused on accelerating the transition to zero carbon for energy users across multiple sectors. We design, construct, operate, and maintain multi-technology assets, including solar PV, battery energy storage, heat pumps, and advanced controls. Our core values are collaboration, innovation, urgency, and integrity. As the energy sector grows rapidly, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your expertise in innovative technologies and apply your project management experience to real-world engineering projects.

Astatine is looking for a Project Manager to take full ownership of project delivery, bringing together people, technical disciplines and commercial priorities to deliver safely, on time and within budget. If you bring experience delivering large-scale energy or infrastructure projects and enjoy leading teams through complex construction challenges, this opportunity could be a strong fit.

You’ll coordinate civil, mechanical and electrical works, act as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders, and lead delivery through construction, commissioning and handover. The role combines on-site leadership with responsibility for budgets, programme, risk and quality, alongside opportunities to support the scoping of new projects.

What you’ll do

Project Leadership & Delivery

· Take full ownership of project delivery, with accountability for safety, quality, programme and cost.

· Coordinate electrical, mechanical and civil works, managing the interfaces between disciplines.

· Lead site teams, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers, keeping everyone aligned on delivery priorities.

· Act as the primary point of contact for clients, designers and project stakeholders.

· Chair site progress meetings and drive agreed actions through to completion.

· Support sales and commercial teams with new project scoping and investigations where needed.

Commercial & Budget Management

· Own project budgets and commercial performance, maintaining clear oversight of costs.

· Manage subcontract procurement, scopes of work, valuations, variations and final accounts.

· Identify change events early and secure timely commercial recovery.

· Maintain accurate cost forecasts and commercial reporting.

· Identify cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities.

Programme & Risk Management

· Develop, maintain and drive the project programme.

· Identify critical-path activities, constraints and risks early.

· Put mitigation measures in place to protect project timelines and margin.

· Work closely with design teams and internal stakeholders to keep delivery on time and within budget.

Quality, Safety & Commissioning

· Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.

· Lead inspections, testing, commissioning and handover.

· Ensure completed works meet specifications and contractual obligations.

Reporting & Governance

· Provide clear, accurate inputs to weekly and monthly project reports.

· Keep senior management informed of progress, risks and the project’s commercial position.

· Maintain robust project controls and documentation.

What you’ll bring

· A degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Construction Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

· Previous trade experience would be an advantage.

· Proven experience delivering large-scale energy or infrastructure projects.

· A strong background in live construction environments.

· Demonstrable experience managing budgets, subcontractors and commercial risk.

· Experience delivering projects with complex scopes.

· Strong leadership and decision-making skills.

· A full driving licence.

· Familiarity with Irish construction contracts and site conditions.

· Demonstrated knowledge of the Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) and Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) roles.

· IOSH or similar training.

· Formal project management training.
