Job Description

Group Head Office - HR Manager

We're hiring

HR Manager

Dublin 15 Full-time, permanent 55,000 to ,65000

Who we are

Hibernia Home Care is an HSE-funded home care provider supporting people to live well in their own homes across Dublin North, Dublin South, Kildare and Wicklow. Our carers deliver community, palliative, dementia, disability and respite care, along with companionship and domestic support.

Our purpose is to be the change we want to see in the world of home care, delivering the best for both our carers and clients. We believe great care starts with how we treat our own people, and that's where you come in.

The role

We're looking for an experienced HR manager to run our people function, working closely with our senior management team. You'll shape how we attract, support, develop and keep our people, from a carer's first application through to the day they move on. You'll work hand in hand with our care managers, operations and finance teams, and report to our Director of Operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who believes fair process and genuine care go together.

What you'll do

Shaping our people strategy

  • Work with the senior management team to build and deliver a people plan that supports our growth and reflects our values
  • Help managers grow in confidence and skill, so they lead their teams well day to day
  • Be the person managers turn to for clear, practical advice on people matters and Irish employment law
  • Set high standards for how we manage people, and keep our policies and systems strong and consistent

Recruitment and onboarding

  • Plan and run carer and staff recruitment, building a steady pipeline of the right people for each region
  • Tell our story as an employer, so carers see why Hibernia is different
  • Make sure everyone involved in hiring is trained and confident, and that vetting, references and qualification checks are thorough
  • Manage relationships with recruitment partners and agencies, making sure they deliver value
  • Work with our training team to give every new starter a strong, welcoming induction

Supporting, developing and keeping our people

  • Handle employee relations fairly and consistently, including grievance, disciplinary, capability and absence matters
  • Support managers to take ownership of retention, check-ins and appraisals in their own teams
  • Oversee probation reviews, performance support and development plans
  • Lead our equality, diversity and inclusion work, so everyone feels they belong here
  • Run exit conversations, learn from what people tell us, and turn it into action
  • Champion wellbeing, learning and health and safety initiatives across the business

Systems, records and compliance

  • Own our HR system and keep it accurate, useful and up to date
  • Keep contracts, policies and the staff handbook current with Irish employment law, GDPR and HSE requirements
  • Make sure leave is recorded properly and that managers understand each leave type and how to approve it
  • Work with payroll and operations on contracts, hours and working time, and support HSE audits and inspections
  • Represent Hibernia at the Workplace Relations Commission where needed

Reporting

  • Produce weekly and monthly people reports by region, tracking recruitment, probation, turnover and retention against targets
  • Present updates and practical actions to the management team each month, with a focus on real-time data

What you'll bring

  • At least 5 years of HR experience, with some time in a generalist or HR manager role
  • A CIPD qualification (or equivalent), ideally alongside a degree in HR or business
  • Strong, current knowledge of Irish employment law and good practice
  • Experience advising managers and working with senior leaders
  • Confidence with HR systems, data and reporting, and good MS Office skills
  • Experience managing workforces on variable or flexible hours contracts
  • Sound judgement, a calm manner, and the ability to handle difficult conversations with dignity
  • Clear, warm communication. Direct when it matters, kind always
  • Reliability. You do what you say you will, and you raise concerns early
  • A full driving licence and your own car, as the role involves regular travel across our regions

Nice to have

  • Experience managing or mentoring HR staff
  • Experience in home care, health or social care
  • Familiarity with rostering systems (OneTouch experience is a plus)
  • Experience supporting HSE or HIQA audits and inspections

What we offer

  • 55,000 to 65,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Annual leave plus public holidays
  • Mileage allowance for work travel
  • Pension / life insurance / other benefits
  • Support for your continued professional development
  • A people-first organisation where your work directly shapes the experience of our carers and the care our clients receive

How to apply

Send your CV and a short cover letter telling us why this role matters to you.

Hibernia Home Care is an equal opportunities employer. We value difference and welcome applications from everyone, whatever their gender, age, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, marital or family status, sexual orientation, disability, or membership of the Traveller community.
