Reports to: Director of Manufacturing Supply Chain & Logistics
The role is an on-premises position, with travel requirements to all PSI locations

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Manager to lead inventory management and reverse logistics operations in Canada’s rapidly evolving vaping industry. This role ensures strict compliance with federal and provincial regulations, including Excise Tax Act requirements, while driving accuracy, efficiency, and strategic optimization of our inventory and warehouse operations.

The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in inventory accuracy, regulatory reporting, reverse logistics, and loss prevention—with a proactive, analytical, and process-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Control & Compliance

  • Lead cycle count and annual physical inventory programs across all storage facilities.
  • Ensure 99%+ inventory accuracy by aligning ERP/WMS data with physical stock.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances (overages, shortages, misplacements).
  • Implement FIFO/LIFO procedures while ensuring traceability of regulated products.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for all inventory handling, with a focus on compliance.
  • Create and track KPIs on accuracy, turnover, cost, and space utilization.
  • Ensure excise-stamped products are correctly stored, tracked, and reported.

Reverse Logistics

  • Oversee inbound processing of customer returns, vendor recalls, and defective units.
  • Track and report on disposition of returned goods (resell, destroy, quarantine).
  • Manage return-to-vendor workflows, including inventory adjustments.
  • Ensure proper documentation for destruction or rework.

Safety

  • Enforcing safe storage and handling of inventory
  • Maintaining clean and hazard-free areas
  • Ensuring safe operation and upkeep of equipment
  • Training staff on safety procedures and PPE use
  • Conducting Safety inspections and correcting hazards
  • Complying with regulations like OHSA
  • Preparing for emergencies and responding to incidents.

Loss Prevention & Security

  • Monitor for trends in inventory shrinkage or errors by operator, location, or SKU.
  • Implement physical and digital controls to protect high-value or regulated goods.
  • Work closely with internal auditors and compliance officers for CRA readiness.

Reporting & Process Optimization

  • Create and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly dashboards on inventory health.
  • Recommend and execute process improvement projects using Lean/Six Sigma principles.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Supply Planning, Customer Service, Compliance and Distribution teams.
  • Train team members on inventory procedures and compliance handling.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Inventory Control, Distribution Operations, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, vaping).
  • University degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field.
  • Certification in Supply Chain (APICS, CPIM, CSCP), Lean, or Six Sigma is an asset.
  • Deep knowledge of ERP/WMS systems (NetSuite, RF Smart or similar).
  • Strong Excel/data analysis skills; ability to model, visualize, and interpret data.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel between warehouse or distribution locations in Canada.
  • Excellent understanding of performance standards management in both theory and practice.


Assets:

  • Prior experience working with Health Canada-regulated products.
  • Prior experience working in the ENDS industry (not required)
