POSITION FUNCTION:
Are you passionate about intercollegiate athletics and looking for a paid hands-on experience in the world of Impact and Student Success at the Conference office level? Join us at the Big 12 Conference, where we are dedicated to providing our institutions with excellent support as they ensure the best athletic and academic experience for their student-athletes.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
The intricacies of a Power 4 conference office
The cross-collaboration of membership and the conference office
Supporting multiple units on areas impacting the holistic student athlete experience
Effectively handling and planning large scale projects and logistics
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Support of the Big 12 Impact and Student Success Department
Provide administrative and clerical support such as, but not limited to, agenda development, scheduling, meeting minutes, coordinating conference auxiliary groups, etc.
Help prepare and sort survey and feedback data
Assist with planning and execution of Impact activations including Fall Tour, Big 12 Beyond Borders & Leadership Forum
Support activations related to student-athlete development, community engagement, and impact
Contribute to special projects as needed
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should demonstrate interest in and passion for intercollegiate athletics and community activities.
Mature written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, show initiative and meet established goals and deadlines.
Moderate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
Ability to work long, flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as required. Some travel may be required.
EDUCATION:
· Prefer sophomore or above (open to graduate students)
· Prefer GPA of 3.2 or higher
· Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office environment. Frequent sitting, standing, walking bending, listening, speaking, and use of office equipment. Some requirements for lifting, pushing, or pulling items less than 30 pounds. Ability to work long non-standard hours, including holidays, nights, weekends, games days or other event dates.

The Big 12 enters its 29th year as one of the nation’s premier conferences in college athletics under the leadership of Commissioner Brett Yormark. Since joining the Conference in August 2022, Yormark has elevated the Big 12 to new heights, emphasizing marketing, brand building and instilling an innovative strategy that has resonated across the college athletics landscape. Starting Aug. 2, 2024, the Conference is composed of 16 universities spanning 10 states and four time zones. The Big 12 members include Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, Colorado, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech, Utah and West Virginia.
