Job Overview:

The Registered Pharmacist at RWJ Hamilton ensures accurate and proficient medication distribution across diverse patient populations, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric groups.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Completion of course at an accredited School of Pharmacy, with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD

Preferred:

• Hospital pharmacy experience

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Current registration in New Jersey as a licensed registered Pharmacist

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift rotation required, 7:00am - 3:30pm, 12:00pm – 8pm, 3:00pm – 11:00pm
• Part Time
• Every other weekend rotation
• Holiday rotation required

Essential Functions:

• Filling and verifying Pyxis refills
• Dispensing floor stock items according to approved lists and par level quantities
• Verifying and preparing aseptic IV admixtures, TPN, and compounded products following good manufacturing pharmacy practice
• Evaluating medication therapy for appropriateness and taking corrective action when needed
• Serving as a drug information resource for healthcare professionals
• Reviewing medication orders for proper dosing and identifying interactions or allergies
• Promptly clarifying medication orders with physicians or nurses as needed
• Documenting interventions for therapy changes and ensuring pharmacy personnel are informed
• Promoting rational medication therapy based on current literature, hospital guidelines, and clinical observation
