The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Overview:
Resident achieves objectives and competencies for each rotation in accordance with ASHP standards for residents in pharmacy practice. The resident actively participates in patient care and ensures that medications are provided in a safe and rational manner while conducting an independent research project to be presented at an annual residency conference. Staffing in the pharmacy department is also required as needed by the determination of the pharmacy management team.
Qualifications:
- Completion of course at an accredited School of Pharmacy, with a degree of Doctor of Pharmacy.
- Pending successful completion of pharmacy residency post-graduate year 1 (PGY1).
- Current or pending New Jersey licensure.
- Meeting any and all requirements of CMC employment.
Scheduling Requirements
- Full-Time
Essential Functions:
- Completes residency requirements as determined by ASHP standards.
- Utilizes the medication screening process to ensure medication orders are complete, appropriate, within legal parameters, and prioritized.
- Develops and presents an independent research project at the annual residency conference.
- Assumes role of drug information provider to all members of the health care team specific to patient populations and age groups.
- Correctly documents all controlled substance dispensing and resolves any discrepancies.
- Participates in medication error and adverse drug reaction reporting programs.
- Monitors specific medication prescribing in accordance with established drug usage criteria prior to dispensing.
- Assists with orientation and training of new employees, students, volunteers, and medical staff.
- Supervises technical staff and volunteers to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Maintains the confidentiality, security, and integrity for the management of associate/patient information.
- Provides one clinical presentation per year (e.g., journal article review, drug review).
- Follows proper safety and infection control procedures and maintains a safe work environment
