Medical Assistant at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

Willis-Knighton Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Orthopedic Clinic on the Pierremont campus. The Medical Assistant will provide nursing care to patients in the physician's offices under the supervision of the clinical physician. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: assessing the health status of patients and collaborating with the nursing staff and physicians to establish care procedures; contributing to the planning of appropriate nursing interventions; medication administration for oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal; assist patients with activities of daily living; document patient assessment; communicate pertinent information regarding patient condition to other members of the health care team; and provides information to patient/family regarding disease process or diagnostic procedures. A Louisiana license is a requirement for this position and previous orthopedic experience is preferred.
