What you will do:
Ferroglobe’ s Buyer procures equipment, materials, and supplies utilizing established purchasing guidelines. Evaluate cost factors to determine overall cost effectiveness in decision making. Administer and adhere to company purchasing policies and standard operating procedures.
- Arrange for the purchase and delivery of materials, services and supplies as identified by approved purchase requisitions.
- Place purchase orders with vendors, follow-up, and expedite as needed. Work with Managers & other employees to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods.
- Assist the Category Manager with identification of contract opportunities for the supply of materials, supplies, and services.
- Control costs through economies of scale, and innovative purchasing techniques.
- Assist vendors and/or employees with problems related to purchasing.
- Review invoices for correctness based on the purchase order: items ordered, terms and conditions. Resolve discrepancies. Work with Department Heads to ensure timely invoice approval and payment.
- Provide SAP support to all requestors in the area/s within Scope of Responsibility.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems relating to purchasing, invoices, and all other vendor matters.
- All other duties as may be assigned.
What we seek:
- 3+ Years in a purchasing procurement position within a Mining or Heavy Industrial environment.
- Strong background in ERP systems- SAP Preferred.
- Have great knowledge in Excel and other Microsoft office applications.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Management, order preparation and tracking.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in autonomy.
- Problem solving oriented.
- Ownership and collaborative communication skills needed: able to work in cross functional and project management environments.

Working Environment:
- Mainly an office environment but on occasion (when needed) go to a mine/plant.
