About This Position
Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, and policies, and procedures, the Development Assistant functions independently, serving as an assistant to the Director and Senior Development Coordinator to support departmental functions of Lima Memorial Foundation, Marketing and Volunteer Services. The Development Assistant effectively coordinates communication, projects and requests related to the Foundation. Maintains records and acknowledges gifts to the Foundation. The Development Assistant coordinates LM Foundation board and committee meetings. S/he performs a variety of administrative professional tasks in support of department and organizational goals. Works collaboratively with marketing and volunteering services to ensure an integrated approach that achieves targeted outcomes.
Education: An associates degree or specialized training of 25 months to 36 months with business-oriented courses (typing, stenography, business English, business Management, etc.) is preferred.
Licensure/Certification: None required.
Experience: Three to five (3-5) years of equivalent business work experience is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in marketing, fundraising or development is highly preferred, as well as a demonstrated record of successful relationships working with donors. Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office. Social media tools and effectiveness of use is required.
Skills: Must have strong organizational, communication and administrative skills and the demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact and diplomacy. Must also be able to work independently with minimal supervision and work rapidly under stressful conditions with frequent interruptions. Must be able to effectively cultivate relationships and be flexible, detail-oriented and results-driven. Must also have demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office and/or other technology/systems which track and report fundraising data
