MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Completion of a recognized course of study from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred. Computer skills in basic programs. Knowledge of workmen’s compensation.

Required Length and Type of Experience

One year related nursing experience preferred. One year acute care experience.

Required Licensure or Certification
-
Must be currently licensed to practice in the State of Ohio. BLS certification required. ACLS recommended for all; required within the first 6 months for ICU, ED, PACU, Radiology, Pain Management. PALS required for 2 North/Peds, ED, PACU must be obtained within 2 years. Training/certification in Audiology, spirometry screening, COC specimen collection. Breath alcohol Technician.

Required Physical and Environmental Demands

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Provides general and specialized direct and indirect patient care through the application of sound Nursing Practice procedures and practices to patients of all ages on assigned nursing unit; demonstrates competency in the behavioral, growth and development, and psychosocial needs of the population served.
