Staff Nurse in San Antonio, Texas at University Health System- San Antonio

Provides direct patient care to assigned patients in the inpatient setting, collaborates with other departments and begins process of proactive thinking when implementing the plan of care. Serves as mentor to staff nurse and ancillary personnel; Receives mentoring from Staff Nurse II and III, Nurse Educator and Patient Care Coordinator.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

BSN is highly preferred. Minimum of one year pediatric experience required. Verification of course completion in accordance with all American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support and Health Care Provider guidelines is required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support training required. Must have current APHON Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider card.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Current license from the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas to practice as a registered nurse is required. Must have a current AHA PALS and BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card. Must have a current APHON Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider card.
