Speech Language Pathologist Assistant at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital – Clinton, Missouri

The Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) works under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide support in the delivery of speech and language services to clients. The SLPA assists in the implementation of treatment plans, conducts therapy sessions, prepares materials, and documents client progress, ensuring adherence to professional standards and ethical guidelines. Practices in a manner consistent with GVMH policies and procedures, standards of practice applicable to speech therapy and applicable Missouri practice act regarding speech-language pathology services. Works in a team environment to provide consistent, high-quality patient care in inpatient, home health, school or outpatient settings as designated by director.

Duties:
Assists the Speech-Language Pathologist in conducting speech, language, and hearing screenings without interpretation.
Implements therapy activities and strategies as directed by the supervising SLP.
Provide direct treatment assistance to clients with speech, language, and hearing disorders
Document and maintain accurate patient records, including progress notes, session summaries, and data on patient performance
Participate in patient progress meetings, parent/caregiver consultations, and interdisciplinary teams meetings as requested
Accepts and performs duties delegated to assist with the department's daily operations and program development
Follows established rules, policies and procedures and observes safety precautions
Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and managing client information as needed.
Maintains accurate working knowledge of the medical records system, completes daily documentation in a timely, accurate manner.

Education:
Bachelors Degree in Communication and Sciences and Disorders

Required:
Missouri License as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant in good standing
Basic Life Support

*Starting Range: $22.23-$27.79
