About This Position

  • GENERAL SUMMARY
    • Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) is a pivotal leadership role reporting directly to the President and CEO. Bridging the delivery of care with digital innovation to improve outcomes and streamline hospital operations is an essential component of this role. The ideal candidate should be a highly experienced healthcare technology leader with a vision for the future and a track record for successful execution. The position requires a strategic mindset to guide the evolution of existing infrastructure technology platforms and enterprise ERP and EHR solutions to remain competitive in the healthcare industry, align with the hospital’s mission, and position the organization for long term success. The CDIO leads digital transformation efforts, ensuring that technology initiatives enhance the quality of care, foster innovation, and maintain the Organization’s competitive advantage, all while exemplifying the organization’s values through effective leadership and communication.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Digital Strategy Leadership: Develops and directs the architecture and execution of a comprehensive digital strategy that seamlessly integrates with the hospital's overall strategic plan, enhancing healthcare delivery, patient engagement, and operational efficiency.
    • Innovation and Technology Advancement: Champions the adoption of emerging technologies and digital health solutions, such as advanced analytics, robotic process automation, natural language processing and artificial intelligence. Additionally, this leader will evolve and maximize the value from existing and future enterprise solutions, to set new standards in patient care and hospital management.
    • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverages advanced data analytics and business intelligence tools to glean insights that inform strategic decisions, improve clinical outcomes, and optimize hospital operations.
    • Cybersecurity Vigilance: Supports the development of robust cybersecurity frameworks to protect sensitive patient data and hospital digital assets, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
    • Cultural Transformation: Cultivates a digital-first culture across the organization, encouraging continuous innovation, learning, and adaptation to technological advancements among all Supports and monitors a culture of customer satisfaction, safety, and efficiency.
    • Operational Partnerships: Partners with business and clinical leaders to understand strategic and operational imperatives to support leveraging technology to drive operational and clinical improvement, so the organization may realize measurable return on IS portfolio investments.
    • Strategic Partnerships: Forge strategic alliances with technology firms, healthcare innovators, and leaders in similar capacities with peer organizations to bring cutting-edge solutions and best practices to the hospital.
    • Leadership and Talent Development: Attracts and retains top talent while providing inspirational leadership to the IS division, fostering a team of high-performing professionals committed to excellence and innovation in healthcare IS.
    • Operational Excellence: Ensure effective governance processes, consistent with leading practices, are established within the IS department and operational Maximize the value of IS infrastructure, applications, and digital services with emphasis on driving peak efficiency, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and user-centric design.
    • Metric-Driven Accountability: Establish, measure, and utilize key performance indicators to assess IS department performance in addition to developing specific and actionable action plans to enhance IS operations.
  • LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
    • None required.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    • Knowledge of health care delivery and management at a level normally acquired through completion of a Master’s Degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration or other closely related field.
    • Approximately ten years progressively more responsible related work
    • Advanced interpersonal skills necessary in order to interact in extremely delicate, sensitive and/or complex situations.
    • Advanced analytical skills necessary in order to organize, plan and coordinate operational activities in development of long range plans for the organization.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS
    • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
