About This Position

Position Summary:

The Clinical Coordinator – as a member of the outpatient infusion services (OIS) team, will assist the Unit Director in overseeing the daily clinical operations of a multidisciplinary team. The Clinical Coordinator will manage, develop, and coordinate clinical programs, provider relationships, and operational activities related to infusion services and infusion authorizations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in related field preferred (BSN/MSN).

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience in an applicable care setting required.
  • Previous infusion based or specific leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of nursing theory and practice required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Current South Carolina (or compact state) licensure as RN (SCLLR) in good standing required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review and monitor staffing levels and productivity, ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory standards, evaluate the educational and competency needs of staff, and assist with input on performance evaluations for team members.
  • Evaluate the clinical practice of specified discipline and review clinical records to ensure standards of care and quality of services are provided.
  • Develop and implement performance improvement activities, strategic growth opportunities, and manage/resolve concerns of personnel, develop objectives and goals, assist with annual budgets, equipment, and supply needs, and serve as liaison to referring providers.
  • Performs functions as noted above but is ready and willing to assist the team in direct nursing services as will be needed in times of high volume as well in rare circumstances cross over to another unit that may not be the normal primary work assignment.
  • Train and serve as back-up coverage for the medication management specialist (MMS)
  • Greet all patients and their accompanying family members when applicable and provide exemplary customer service.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues, physicians, and department heads.
  • Consistently display effective verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required.
  • Regularly exercise independent judgement in all situations.
