Job Description
The Lab Technician II employee will work in the quality control department, executing accurate and timely laboratory testing of in-process and final product samples to support operations and ensure customer quality requirements are met. The Lab Technician II employee will also be responsible for the operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of quality lab equipment. Candidates should be detail oriented and possess strong analytical and communication skills.
· Perform routine and non-routine laboratory testing on in-process and finished product samples in support of manufacturing operations and customer specifications.
· Analyze samples using established laboratory methods and instrumentation.
· Maintain accurate laboratory records, data entry, and documentation in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.
· Communicate test results promptly and accurately to production operators to support process adjustments and production quality.
· Ensure all laboratory equipment is in proper working order, including running controls, calibrating, cleaning, and performing preventative maintenance; perform routine troubleshooting and notify supervisors of equipment issues.
· Maintaining proper housekeeping standards to ensure a safe working environment in the labs and sample retain areas.
· Retain production samples according to established procedures.
· Utilize laboratory database systems, spreadsheets, and plant software for reporting and tracking test results.
· Support investigations involving off-specification materials, customer complaints, process deviations, and quality concerns.
· Work effectively in a 24-hour manufacturing environment, including shift work, weekends, holidays, overtime, and shift handoffs.
· Follow safety operation procedures required by Trecora.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:· High school diploma / GED required.
· Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science field preferred.
· Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Quality control lab and/or a Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment.
