You will play a key role in project accounting, financial forecasting, revenue recognition, and client financial operations while partnering closely with project managers, finance teams, and client-facing stakeholders. - Support monthly project accounting activities, including financial tracking, reconciliations, forecasting, and participation in project status meetings.
- Review and reconcile new projects, change orders, budget adjustments, carve-outs, and project financial updates to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage project financial trackers, milestone reporting, intercompany transactions, and revenue allocation activities.
- Set up new clients and projects within accounting systems, including employee rate mapping and contract-related financial configurations.
- Assist with revenue recognition processes while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and financial reporting standards.
- Prepare monthly revenue forecasts, budget comparisons, and financial analyses to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Monitor project costs, billable hours, subcontractor expenses, and overall financial performance against forecasts and contracted amounts.
- Prepare and review client invoicing, accruals, and collections activities while supporting follow-up on outstanding balances.
- Review expense coding, invoices, credit card transactions, and financial documentation to ensure proper approvals and accounting accuracy.
- Support annual audits, budgeting initiatives, month-end close activities, and implementation of new financial policies and procedures.
- Mentor junior finance staff by sharing best practices, supporting professional development, and promoting operational excellence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting, finance, project accounting, or client financial management experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to analyze and manage large datasets effectively.
- Experience with project accounting, month-end close processes, revenue recognition, and financial forecasting is highly desirable.
- Client-facing or professional services industry experience is considered a strong advantage.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to process and interpret both qualitative and quantitative financial information accurately.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities with the capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
