Banking • Full-Time • Consumer Lending - Loan Center
Scott Credit Union is hiring a Loan Center Consultant in Edwardsville, IL to to provide exceptional service and guidance to our members throughout the consumer lending process. We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, knowledgeable in consumer lending, and skilled at managing loan documentation while providing a high level of member support. Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Saturday
Work Location Status: Fully on-site for the first 30-90 days at the Edwardsville, IL Headquarters. After successful completion of probationary period, position may be eligible for hybrid or remote work.
*Employees in hybrid or remote roles may be required to return on-site periodically for meetings, events, or other work-related needs as determined by their manager.
About the RoleUnder the supervision of the Loan Center Supervisor, responsible for executing SCU’s member engagement model to inform and educate members on consumer lending products and services offered by SCU. Maintains a deep knowledge of SCU’s lending products and services and displays the ability to determine how these services can enhance and broaden a member’s financial picture. Responsible for providing direct support for members using the credit union’s electronic/telephone loan service channels. Requires an ability to communicate effectively with prospective and current members via telephone, email, and video (i.e. Skype) and chat. Consultant will represent the credit union in a positive and professional manner.

- Provides direct support for both online and mobile loan applications.
- Perform prompt, efficient and accurate processing of member loan requests, including data input, documenting loans, and booking designated unsecured loans.
- Analyze potential lending and cross selling opportunities involved in each lending situation to further assist the borrower as well as increase the credit union's lending portfolio.
- Accountable for meeting individual sales and lending goals through the telephone channels.
- Operates computer to accurately update member account transactions and information.
- Assist with the virtual application processing during peak times, or when designated by management team.
- Processes Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) applications through the telephone channel.
- Responsible for telephone loan queue, answering general loan questions, processing ACH payments, and completing of reoccurring payments.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working in a financial institution or call center.
- Personal computer experience to include Microsoft Windows applications.
