About the role
Monitors and audits production processes to ensure all products meet internal specifications, customer expectations, and strict regulatory standards (e.g., USDA, FDA). This role plays an active part in enforcing food safety protocols, verifying critical control points, and maintaining a culture of food defense and continuous quality improvement.
What you'll do
- Conduct line checks, pre-operational inspections, and product evaluations (e.g., weights, temperature, sensory, etc).
- Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) to ensure products are within safety and regulatory limits.
- Complete daily quality paperwork, including HACCP logs, metal detection and weight checks, GMP observations, and note corrective actions.
- Ensure proper lot control, rotation, and ingredient traceability.
- Identify and isolate out-of-specification (OOS) materials or products; place them on hold and communicate with leadership.
- Verify and calibrate measurement tools such as scales, thermometers, and metal detectors to ensure accurate operations.
Qualifications
- Degree level qualification in a science or food technology field or work history equivalent preferred
- Background with (1-3 years experience) in food manufacturing
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work cohesively with all departments and key stakeholders within the business and ability to drive a Food Safety & Quality Culture.
- Experience of site compliance to USDA/FDA, GFSI, customer standards
- Familiarity with HACCP principles, environmental monitoring, and allergen control programs.
- Effective project management and time management skills
- Highly articulate with excellent communication skills
- Dedicated with a strong work ethic & “can do” attitude
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Ability to work under pressure with pace and energy to meet deadlines
- Self-driven and motivated
Physical Requirements:
- Site-based role within a food manufacturing environment working in both production and office areas.
- Ability to walk production floors, stand for extended periods, and access manufacturing areas.
- May require flexibility to support off-shift operations, weekends, or emergency situations.
