The Computational Design Specialist supports the Corporate Practice Technology Director in developing and scaling advanced digital workflows, automation, and data-driven processes across projects and offices. This role focuses on integrating technology into project delivery to improve efficiency, coordination, quality, and consistency while helping project teams reduce repetitive manual tasks and focus on higher-value work.



Your Impact:

  • Develop and implement advanced digital workflows, tools, and automation strategies to improve project delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Technology Director, BIM Managers, and project teams to evaluate emerging technologies and translate them into scalable solutions.
  • Support pilot initiatives, applied research, and repeatable workflows across project teams and offices.
  • Provide advanced technical support for Revit, Autodesk Forma, Dynamo, Rhino, Grasshopper, visualization tools, Bluebeam, and other design/practice technology platforms.
  • Develop automation scripts and digital tools using Dynamo, Python, C#, JavaScript, APIs, MCPs, or similar platforms.
  • Assist with rollout plans, documentation, guides, and best practices for new tools, automation workflows, and advanced digital delivery methods.
  • Work across disciplines to integrate data, models, and workflows into coordinated digital processes that support project delivery.
  • Troubleshoot design and practice technology issues for project teams, including support through the ticketing system.
  • Train, support, and upskill project teams in advanced digital capabilities, automation tools, and computational design workflows.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design Technology, Practice Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in A/E/C, computational design, design technology, or practice technology.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced BIM, computational design, automation, and digital workflows within the AEC industry.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Revit, Dynamo, Rhino, Grasshopper, Python, C#, JavaScript, APIs, MCPs, Navisworks, Autodesk Forma/APS, Bluebeam, and other advanced digital platforms.
  • Experience implementing multi-discipline BIM workflows and supporting broader design and practice technology processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and systems-thinking skills with the ability to develop scalable solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical workflows effectively.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to implement processes consistently in a fast-paced, multi-office environment.

Here’s How You’ll Stand Out:

  • Advanced degree or certifications in Architecture, Engineering, Design Technology, Computational Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience developing automation tools, scripts, dashboards, or data-driven workflows that improve project delivery and team efficiency.
  • Strong expertise in computational design platforms such as Dynamo, Grasshopper, Rhino, Python, C#, JavaScript, APIs, MCPs, or related tools.
  • Experience translating emerging technologies into practical, scalable workflows for project teams.
  • Strong understanding of BIM, model coordination, data interoperability, visualization, and digital project delivery in an AEC environment.
  • Experience leading pilot initiatives, applied research, or innovation efforts that result in repeatable tools or workflows.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and upskill users with varying levels of design technology and computational design experience.
