First National Bank is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Loan Documentation & Post-Closing Specialist to join our Credit Management team. In this role, you will be responsible for booking loans, imaging and verifying the accuracy of loan documents, ensuring compliance standards are met, identifying exceptions, and processing loan payments. What will you be doing in this role?
- Provides daily support to Loan Officers and external customers with functional knowledge of the Bank’s loan products and processing of simple to moderately complex loans. Assists Loan Officers and other internal customers with recorded loan documentation, adds and removes ticklers, and clears technical loan exceptions.
- Reviews loan files to verify that required documents are present and completed fully and accurately. Accurately and efficiently inputs loans into Bank’s core loan system. Works tight deadlines and time constraints while maintaining a low error rate.
- Ability to complete a variety of loan processing transactions such as loan and participation payments, quoting and processing loan payoffs, posting general ledger entries, preparing information for collections, and processing denied loan applications. Releases collateral on loans as appropriate.
- Retains original loan files, collateral files, and credit files as required by loan policy, procedure, and regulatory guidelines. Responsible for establishing and maintaining official documents and records in appropriate files. Conducts periodic audits on files and purges obsolete information as appropriate.
- Collaborates with team members and Management to foster a healthy and effective work environment that continuously improves processes and manages risk.
What will you need?
- High School graduate or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of six months of clerical or loan operations experience required. Experience with all Consumer, Dealer, and Real Estate loans desired.
- Works well both independently and in collaboration with others with minimum supervision.
- Ability to learn and retain knowledge of Bank loan products and services, delivery channels, relevant banking regulations, and operational policies and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with ability to understand and carry out instructions, produce reports, organize information, speak clearly and effectively communicate information to customers, peers and management.
- Demonstrates an aptitude for banking and exhibits proficiency in all areas of loan documentation and maintenance within first year of employment.
