Laser Operator - Nights in Machesney Park, Illinois at HENNIG INC

Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC laser cutting machines in a manufacturing environment
  
• Interpret basic blueprints, shop drawings, and work instructions
  
• Demonstrate knowledge of metal fabrication processes and materials
  
• Load sheets of steel onto the laser bed using an overhead crane
  
• Unload finished parts from the laser machine and stage for next operations
  
• Monitor machine performance and report issues or defects
  
• Maintain a safe and organized work area by following all safety procedures and regulations
  
• Support production and organizational goals by taking ownership of assigned tasks and adapting to new or changing requirements
  
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and overall job performance

Qualifications:

• Prior experience operating CNC machinery preferred
  
• Basic understanding of metal fabrication
  
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings
  
• Experience using cranes or material handling equipment is a plus
  
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
