JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer
DEPARTMENT: Engineering
REPORTS TO: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides technical support related to specific products and production lines. Share ownership of the product performance and production line efficiencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Understand the product and its intended operation (form, fit and function). Assist production, maintenance, and quality in the debug of production processes.
2. Preparation/revisions of Process Flow Diagrams, Operation sheets, and Standing Operating Procedures (SOP's).
3. Monitor and analyze production processes to improve performance, efficiency, and reject rates.
4. Support resolution of technical issues, and report on all current technical issues and status during weekly meetings and / or management reviews.
5. Participate in Failure Analysis efforts related to production issues, performance issues, and critical characteristics.
6. Generate Requests for Process Change forms and manage them through the approval process.
7. Main internal technical point of contact for assigned programs.
8. Support Configuration Control of the Technical Data Packages associated with the products produced.
9. Define process control (including SPC) requirements for production processes.
10. Participate in risk assessment for production operations.
11. Participate in Build Readiness Reviews (BRR’s), Test Readiness Reviews (TRR’s) and Production Readiness Reviews (PRR’s).
12. Participate in line set-up including layout, flow, equipment, storage, etc.
13. Create / Lead Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for assigned programs.
14. Support customer technical requests and questions; provide resultant effects to production processes and performance
15. Support / assist Quality and Purchasing in resolution of supplier issues
16. Identify Key Characteristics and Key Process Parameters for assigned programs.
17. Production daily rate improvement/areas that constrain meeting monthly requirements.
18. Determine optimal line staffing to maximize labor efficiency.
19. Regular attendance is required.
20. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
21. Perform all other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
POSITION TYPE
This is a Salaried-Exempt full-time position.
TRAVEL
Travel (less than 10% of work time).
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline (Mechanical or Industrial preferred).
