LACTATION CONS, FAM BIRTH SERV

Position Description: The Certified Lactation Consultant assess, implements, and evaluates a plan of care for patients/clients with complex breastfeeding problems. Assists in developing evidence based policies and procedures relative to lactation. Acts as a resource to Lactation Specialists and staff nurses on the unit. Provides evidence based education on breastfeeding for parents and healthcare professionals both formally and informally. Assists in plans and goals for lactation services. The Lactation Consultant will work, but not limited to, the NICU, Lactation Center, and/or Post Partum Department. Has an ability to utilize the following tools in teaching; computers, power point, overhead projector and copy machines. Is able to work independently in all settings and is flexible with hours and scheduling. May perform other duties as assigned.

[Required] Job Qualifications:Valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of California. Bachelors degree in Nursing BLS, NRP, Certification as a Lactation Consultant; IBCLC Certification or five years equivalent clinical lactation experience. Seven years clinical experience in an acute care facility with five years in specialty.

Salary range: $66.34 - $98.07 Salary will be commensurate with experience.

SALARY RANGE INCLUDES NIGHT SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL
