About The Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Post Closing Analyst to support our Closing, Servicing, and Capital Markets functions. This role is responsible for managing post-close loan files, collateral delivery, custodian coordination, trailing documents, MERS activity, and trade readiness to ensure loans are complete, compliant, and sale eligible.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee delivery of closed loan collateral to custodians within required timelines
- Monitor and maintain collateral pipelines, including shipment, receipt, certification status, and trailing document tracking
- Resolve missing, incorrect, or illegible documentation by coordinating with Closing, Title, Counsel, settlement agents, and third-party vendors
- Review and clear custodian exceptions and document deficiencies through cross-functional collaboration
- Manage loans on Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems (MERS) from registration through transfers of beneficial and servicing rights in connection with loan sales
- Reconcile MERS data against internal systems and custodial records, resolving discrepancies to ensure investor and servicer compliance
- Coordinate recording and retrieval of required recorded documents
- Support Capital Markets by providing collateral readiness updates and satisfying investor delivery conditions
- Produce and maintain reporting on trailing documents, outstanding exceptions, custodian certification status, and MERS reconciliation
- Analyze trends, recommend process improvements, and ensure adherence to internal controls, compliance standards, and audit requirements
Qualifications:
- 2–5+ years of experience in mortgage post-closing, collateral management, or loan operations
- Strong knowledge of mortgage documents, title/vesting, assignments, and custodian certification processes
- Familiarity with Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems (MERS) registrations, transfers, and reconciliation a plus
- Proficiency in Excel, LOS platforms, and document tracking/reporting across large data sets
- Experience resolving collateral exceptions and managing trailing document pipelines with custodians and vendors
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to coordinate across internal teams and external parties under tight timelines
- Ability to work in a hybrid capacity, with periodic in-office presence at one of our two locations
