Aerospace Production Worker
Position Summary
The Aerospace Production Worker is responsible for the assembly, fabrication, and inspection of precision components used in the aerospace industry. This role requires a high degree of technical accuracy, strict adherence to quality standards, and the ability to work within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Precision Assembly: Assemble complex mechanical or structural components according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
Fabrication & Tooling: Operate specialized machinery and hand tools to trim, shim, and fit parts to exacting tolerances.
Quality Compliance: Ensure all work meets AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management standards. Perform routine self-inspections to identify defects or deviations.
Documentation: Maintain meticulous production records, including material traceability, labor hours, and inspection logs.
Safety & Environment: Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean, organized workspace (5S).
Required Qualifications
Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably within the aerospace, automotive, or medical device industries.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and Work Instructions (WI).
Manual Dexterity: Strong hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small, delicate components.
Mathematical Aptitude: Basic understanding of shop math and the ability to use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in aviation maintenance or manufacturing is a plus.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs.
Excellent vision (corrected or uncorrected) for close-up inspection tasks.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with strict production deadlines.
Preferred Attributes
A strong "Quality First" mindset with high attention to detail.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with engineering and quality assurance teams.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
