Job Title: Medical Records Assistant

Reports To: Office Manager
Position Summary
The Medical Records Assistant supports the Medical Records department by ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant management of patient records. This position is responsible for clerical and administrative functions, including document processing, phone support, and coordination with clinical and administrative teams to maintain efficient operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain, organize, and manage patient medical records in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards
- Scan, file, and upload documents into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system with a high degree of accuracy
- Provide front-line phone support, including answering, routing calls, and assisting inquiries
- Process medical records requests and support audits
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality standards
- Assist with data entry and administrative tasks
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Compensation
$20.00 – $24.00 per hour, based on experience and internal equity
Requirements: Schedule & Work Expectations Part-time: 20–24 hours per week Monday through Friday Required availability: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Typical shifts: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (lunch waiver may apply)
Minimum Qualifications Education: Some college coursework preferred Experience: Healthcare office experience required; EMR experience preferred
