Entry-Level Plant Maintenance Technician in Mount Vernon, Ohio at Mack Industries Group

Mack Industries is seeking an Entry-Level Plant Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Team in Mount Vernon. This position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of production equipment and facility systems to help keep operations running safely and efficiently.

This role is a great opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude who is eager to learn and grow in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions:

• Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment and facility systems
• Assist with repairs and troubleshooting on production equipment
• Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize downtime
• Work independently or alongside experienced maintenance team members to complete repairs and projects
• Follow all safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and lockout/tagout procedures
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Document completed maintenance tasks and track parts and equipment usage
• Perform routine facility maintenance as needed
• Assist with welding, torch cutting, fabrication, and other maintenance duties when applicable
• Willingly support other departments and operations as needed
• Continue developing maintenance and troubleshooting skills through hands-on training

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of hand tools and power tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
• Willingness to learn industrial maintenance, fabrication, and basic electrical troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):

• Industrial maintenance experience
• Experience working in manufacturing or industrial facilities
• Electrical troubleshooting experience

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
• Must be able to stand, walk, climb, kneel, squat, and remain active throughout the workday
• Ability to work in seasonal weather conditions and industrial environments with varying levels of noise, dust, and dirt
