Position Summary
As Production Manager, you will play a central role in leading daily operations, implementing lean practices, and scaling capacity to support company growth. This role combines leadership, process improvement, and financial acumen to deliver safe, efficient, and profitable production.
Core Responsibilities
• Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and frontline staff.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, Standard Work) to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure daily schedules are met safely, on time, and at the highest quality standards.
• Analyze capacity and lead projects to increase throughput and support growth.
• Monitor budgets, control costs, and drive gross profit improvement.
• Partner with Quality and Maintenance teams to sustain compliance, safety, and uptime.
Production & Efficiency
• Achieve ≥95% schedule attainment for daily and weekly production plans.
• Improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) by 8–12% within the first 12 months.
• Reduce production downtime by 10% through improved coordination with Maintenance.
• Increase production throughput 10–15% through process improvements and capacity optimization.
Lean & Continuous Improvement
• Implement 5S across all production areas within the first 6 months.
• Lead at least 1 Kaizen or process improvement project per quarter.
• Reduce material or process waste by 5–8% annually.
Quality & Food Safety
• Maintain SQF/HACCP compliance with zero major audit findings.
• Maintain customer complaint rate below defined company thresholds.
• Ensure 100% adherence to food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
Financial Performance
• Maintain production costs within approved budget targets.
• Identify and implement cost savings initiatives that contribute to annual gross margin improvement.
• Improve labor efficiency through scheduling and productivity improvements.
Team Leadership & Development
• Maintain high employee engagement and low voluntary turnover within production teams.
• Develop supervisors through coaching, training, and succession planning.
• Ensure 100% completion of required safety and operational training for production staff.
Safety
• Achieve zero lost-time incidents and reduce recordable safety incidents year over year.
• Maintain 100% compliance with safety policies, training, and reporting procedures.
Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience (food/beverage preferred).
• Strong track record in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Financial literacy and experience managing budgets/cost control.
• Experience scaling operations and improving production capacity.
• HACCP/SQF knowledge; Lean Six Sigma or CPIM certification a plus.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a bonus.
Physical Demands
Medium - Exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Ability to stand for a long period of time as well as raise and move up to 50 pounds unassisted. Must be willing to work flexible hours and flexible shifts.
