In this role, you will design and operate distributed services that orchestrate multiple text-to-speech providers alongside in-house AI models, ensuring consistent, high-quality voice outputs at scale. You will tackle complex challenges around reliability, latency, data consistency, and provider orchestration while directly influencing user-facing product experiences. Working in a highly collaborative, product-driven environment, you will partner closely with frontend, product, and research teams to build seamless end-to-end voice creation workflows. This is a high-impact role where backend decisions directly shape user experience, enabling customers to generate, evaluate, and reuse voice content across languages and use cases. You will help define the future of voice generation systems in a fast-moving AI product space.

• Design, build, and maintain backend systems powering script preview and voice generation workflows at scale.
• Develop and operate orchestration layers that integrate multiple text-to-speech providers alongside internal AI models.
• Implement reliability mechanisms such as retries, failover strategies, throttling, and fallback logic for external API dependencies.
• Design persistence and data consistency systems ensuring reproducible and high-quality voice outputs across generations.
• Improve storage, retrieval, and reuse mechanisms for voice assets across the platform.
• Build and enhance evaluation and recommendation systems for voice discovery and selection.
• Monitor system performance and user experience metrics using observability tools to identify issues and drive improvements.
• Collaborate closely with frontend and product teams to design APIs and workflows that deliver seamless end-user experiences.
• Contribute to cross-functional initiatives spanning backend infrastructure, product logic, and applied AI systems.
• Participate in iterative development cycles, shipping quickly and refining systems based on data and user feedback.

• Several years of experience designing, building, and operating production-grade backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in backend development (Python/FastAPI or similar frameworks) with experience in distributed systems.
• Proven ability to work with third-party APIs and manage external service dependencies in production environments.
• Strong product mindset with focus on user-facing impact rather than purely technical implementation.
• Experience designing reliable, observable, and scalable backend services.
• Understanding of system design principles, including consistency, latency, and fault tolerance.
• Ability to collaborate across frontend, backend, and product teams, with comfort working across the full stack when needed.
• Experience working in iterative, experiment-driven environments with fast shipping and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Datadog), workflow orchestration systems (e.g., Temporal), or recommendation/evaluation systems is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical decisions into product outcomes.
• Curiosity and willingness to explore unfamiliar areas, including frontend debugging when required.

• Competitive base salary starting from EUR/GBP/CHF 130,000 plus stock option plan.
