Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is dedicated to providing high-quality patient care, works well in a collaborative environment, and communicates effectively with both team members and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Perform and monitor anesthesia under veterinary supervision
- Obtain and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal, cytology, etc.)
- Conduct radiographs and other diagnostic imaging as needed
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor and care for hospitalized patients, ensuring comfort and accurate treatment
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Educate clients on pet care, treatment plans, and medication instructions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment area
- Support patient handling and restraint with a focus on safety and low-stress techniques
- Veterinary Technician certification or licensure preferred (CVT/LVT/RVT) or eligibility to obtain certification or 3+ years of experience
- Prior experience in a veterinary clinical setting strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
- Experience with patient handling, restraint, and low-stress handling techniques
- Ability to assist with anesthesia monitoring and surgical support (or willingness to be trained)
- Competency in collecting and processing laboratory samples
- Basic proficiency with radiography and diagnostic imaging (or willingness to learn)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate medical records
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication skills with both team members and clients
- Compassion for animals and commitment to high-quality patient care
- Ability to lift, restrain, and handle animals of varying sizes when needed
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends or holidays if required
- Proficiency with veterinary software is a plus
