Job Description

About Anza

Anza is building a mortgage insurance company from first principles. Most mortgage insurers operate on decades-old technology, manual workflows, organizational structures, and operating assumptions that have evolved incrementally over time. We believe there is a fundamentally better way.

Our vision is to build the industry's most technology-enabled mortgage insurer, one where software, automation, AI, analytics, and thoughtful operating design create better experiences for customers while allowing the business to scale efficiently without simply adding people.

We are not interested in making legacy processes slightly better. We are interested in building the operating model that mortgage insurance should have had all along.

About the role

The purpose of this role is to increase the effectiveness of the CEO and the company by ensuring the company's most important priorities receive the analysis, coordination, and follow-through they require. This is not an executive assistant position. It is not simply a project coordinator. It is not a traditional consulting role. It is an execution-oriented role designed for someone early in their career who wants extraordinary exposure to how a modern financial services company is built.

You'll work across technology, operations, product, risk, finance, and corporate functions, helping transform strategic ideas into measurable business outcomes. Every week will look different. One week, you may prepare Board materials, evaluate a technology platform, and analyze a competitive threat. Next, you may build a financial model, improve an operational workflow, or help launch a company-wide initiative.

Success requires intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, exceptional organization, and the willingness to tackle whatever problem matters most. As Anza grows, we intentionally build careers around demonstrated capability rather than fixed organizational charts. This role is designed for someone who wants to become one of the company's future leaders.

Success in this role will be measured by your ability to help the company execute more effectively, solve difficult problems, and improve how the organization operates. This is an execution-oriented role. Success is measured by implementation, measurable business outcomes, and organizational impact—not recommendations alone.

What you'll do

Help the CEO/Strategy and Execution Team

  • Support the company's highest-priority strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Translate ideas into work plans, timelines, analyses, and measurable outcomes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and ensure critical projects continue moving forward.
  • Follow up relentlessly to ensure commitments become completed work.

Solve Complex Business Problems

  • Conduct research, build business cases, and analyze complex issues.
  • Build financial models, dashboards, presentations, and executive materials.
  • Break ambiguous problems into structured recommendations.
  • Prepare materials for executive meetings and Board discussions.

Improve How the Company Operates

  • Learn every major component of Anza's business.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve executive productivity and organizational effectiveness.
  • Help redesign workflows that improve customer experience while increasing organizational efficiency.
  • Support implementation of enterprise transformation initiatives.

Serve as a Cross-Functional Partner

  • Build trusted relationships throughout the organization.
  • Work across departments to remove obstacles and improve execution.
  • Support leaders as they implement strategic initiatives.
  • Help reinforce a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone with exceptional leadership potential who is still early enough in their career to be energized by building something new. The ideal candidate combines analytical rigor, intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, and a desire to learn how great organizations are built. Rather than accepting existing processes, they naturally ask whether better approaches exist.

This role is well-suited for someone who wants broad enterprise exposure while working directly alongside senior executives in a fast-growing company.

Preferred Experience

  • Approximately 1–3 years of professional experience.
  • Experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, product management, product operations, business analytics, fintech, technology-enabled financial services, or another high-performance environment.
  • Demonstrated success managing projects, solving analytical problems, or supporting executive decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational ability and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working directly with senior executives and exercising sound judgment when handling confidential information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable using data to support business decisions.
  • Experience with AI tools, workflow automation, analytics, or low-code platforms is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others through credibility, preparation, and follow-through rather than formal authority.
  • Comfortable learning unfamiliar industries and solving ambiguous problems.
  • Builder's mindset with a strong bias toward action.

Mortgage insurance experience is not required. We welcome candidates from technology-enabled industries who bring fresh perspectives and a passion for solving complex business problems.

Why This Role?

Few early-career opportunities provide the chance to help build a financial services company from the ground up. At Anza, you'll work directly with the CEO on the company's highest-priority initiatives, helping rethink how mortgage insurance should operate in an era of AI, automation, and modern technology. You'll gain broad exposure across strategy, technology, operations, finance, and risk while developing the judgment, execution skills, and business perspective that prepare exceptional leaders for increasingly significant responsibilities. If you're energized by solving difficult problems, building rather than maintaining, and making a meaningful impact from day one, you'll find exceptional responsibility, visibility, and career growth at Anza.
