The Freight Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating the transportation of freight to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of goods. This role serves as a liaison between customers, carriers, warehouse personnel, and internal teams to schedule shipments, track freight movements, resolve transportation issues, and maintain accurate shipping documentation.

Compensation & Hours
- $26.44/hourly
- Hours- M-Thursday 7 am - 4 pm, Friday 7:00 am - 1:30 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate domestic and/or international freight shipments from origin to destination.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers, suppliers, and customers.
- Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate updates, delays, or issues with the Plant Manager and Shipping Lead.
- Prepare and maintain shipping documents, bills of lading, freight invoices, and customs paperwork as required.
- Resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, shortages, and transportation-related claims.
- Collaborate with warehouse, production, purchasing, and customer service teams to meet delivery deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records in transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems, and shipping databases.
- Trace all shipments to ensure on-time deliveries when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, or freight coordination.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and/or machinery is helpful.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and ERP software preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Frequent bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching required throughout the shift.
- Regular exposure to repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, helmet, ear plugs, and safety glasses.
