Transporter
Opal Foods is currently accepting applications for the position of Transporter for our Litchfield MN egg processing location. This position is primarily responsible for using a pallet jack or forklift to move empty pallets, packaging, palletized cartons of eggs to desired locations. Will also be cross trained in other warehouse and production functions. Must accurately enter product and maintain daily paperwork and inventory. May assist with other projects and duties as needed. Working hours include weekends and holidays. Must have excellent work ethic, strong attention to detail, reliability, and punctuality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Adhere to all Opal Foods policies and procedures, including Safety, Bio-Security, FDA, SQF, and GMP guidelines.
• Accurately count and track inventory.
• Inspect, receive, and document incoming shipments for cleanliness, pest control, odors, and proper seals.
• Help maintain organization and cleanliness of the processing plant, cooler and warehouse.
• Operate pallet jacks, forklift, and other material-handling equipment.
• Assist team members with additional tasks as required throughout the workday.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Proven experience operating pallet jacks and/or forklift.
• Ability to lift up to 60lbs from 2 feet to 5 feet and 50lbs from 6 feet to ground level.
• Capable of sustaining a fast work pace for extended periods (up to 3 hours continuously).
• Comfortable working in varying conditions, including cold storage, refrigerated trailers, and high-temperature plant and warehouse environments.
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with others.
• Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English, as well as verify documentation accurately.
• Dependable and flexible, with availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Physically capable of performing essential job functions, including walking, standing, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and operating machinery.
