Head of Product Marketing

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Product Marketing based in United States.

This is a senior, high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping the go-to-market strategy and product narrative across a sophisticated, multi-product portfolio.
You will define differentiated positioning, lead major launches, and translate complex technical capabilities into compelling stories for diverse audiences.
As a player-coach, you will combine strategic leadership with hands-on product marketing execution.
You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing to influence product strategy and drive commercial outcomes.
The role offers an opportunity to build a high-performing, AI-native product marketing function and establish new ways of working.
You will bring customer, competitive, and market insights into strategic decisions while operating in a rapidly evolving technology environment.
Success will require strong judgment, high agency, exceptional storytelling, and the ability to create clarity amid ambiguity and change.

Accountabilities:
  • Define and own the overarching product marketing strategy, positioning, messaging, and market narrative across a multi-product portfolio spanning analytics, experimentation, and AI-powered solutions.
  • Establish differentiated points of view that clearly communicate product value to technical, product, business, and executive audiences.
  • Lead go-to-market strategies for major products, capabilities, and launches, covering positioning, messaging, launch planning, enablement, customer proof points, adoption, and market activation.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to bring new products and capabilities to market while influencing product direction through market and customer insights.
  • Build and lead an AI-native product marketing operating model, setting priorities, quality standards, processes, and team rhythms.
  • Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop product marketers into stronger strategists, storytellers, and cross-functional leaders.
  • Stay deeply informed about customers, competitors, technology trends, and market dynamics, translating insights into actionable product and GTM strategies.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and executive leadership to create alignment around positioning, launches, customer needs, and business objectives.
  • Remain hands-on in critical product marketing activities, including writing positioning, developing narratives, engaging with customers, shaping demos, and testing messaging.
  • Champion experimentation, rapid learning, and continuous improvement by encouraging teams to create initial solutions, validate them with customers, and refine them based on evidence.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of product marketing experience, including significant leadership experience supporting technical, enterprise, SaaS, developer, data, AI/ML, or similarly complex products.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a product marketing team while maintaining a strong hands-on individual contributor presence.
  • Proven success defining product positioning, messaging, GTM strategies, and major launches across a multi-product portfolio in complex or rapidly evolving markets.
  • Strong technical product marketing expertise, with the ability to understand complex systems involving data, analytics, AI/ML, or developer technologies and translate them into clear, differentiated customer narratives.
  • Experience partnering effectively with Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and executive stakeholders to drive alignment and measurable business outcomes.
  • An AI-native mindset and a clear perspective on how AI is transforming software, product development, customer experiences, and the future of product marketing.
  • Exceptional storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor complex messages for engineers, product leaders, executives, customers, and other audiences.
  • A player-coach leadership style, combining strategic thinking and team leadership with a willingness to remain close to execution.
  • High agency, strong ownership, and the ability to operate effectively without fully defined processes or playbooks.
  • Strong judgment, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to create clarity and momentum in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation with a total target cash range of $285,000–$476,000, depending on work location, with applicable ranges varying by geography.
  • Eligibility for equity and additional forms of compensation.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, including 100% employer-paid premiums for employees on select plans.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match of up to 1% of eligible pay, subject to plan limits.
  • Flexible time off and paid holidays.
  • Monthly wellness and commuter transit/parking stipends.
  • Quarterly learning and development stipends and new-hire home office equipment support.
  • Comprehensive parental benefits, including 12 weeks of paid parental leave, fertility, adoption and surrogacy support, and backup childcare.
  • Mental health and wellness benefits, including employee access to coaching and therapy.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
  • Mentorship programs, management training, professional development resources, and wellness initiatives.
  • Charitable giving grants and paid volunteer time off.
  • An inclusive, collaborative environment focused on humility, ownership, growth, and customer centricity.
