About the Role:

The Superintendent, Civil Mechanical, plays a critical leadership role in overseeing and managing all civil and mechanical construction activities on-site to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This position requires coordinating multidisciplinary teams, including subcontractors and vendors, to maintain high standards of quality and compliance with engineering specifications and regulatory requirements. The superintendent will be responsible for interpreting project plans, resolving technical issues, and implementing effective construction methodologies to optimize workflow. They will also serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, facilitating communication and reporting progress to senior management. Ultimately, this role ensures the successful delivery of complex civil and mechanical infrastructure projects by driving operational excellence and fostering a culture of safety and collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field prefered.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil and mechanical construction supervision, preferably in large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record of managing complex construction sites with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations applicable to civil and mechanical works.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with project management software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with Lean Construction principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working on federal or state government infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities related to civil and mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards.
  • Manage subcontractors and labor forces, providing clear direction and resolving any on-site conflicts or issues promptly.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents to guide construction processes and verify compliance.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and environmental regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to communicate progress, address challenges, and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure workmanship meets or exceeds project requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed daily reports, logs, and documentation related to construction activities and resource utilization.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns.

Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for managing subcontractors, resolving conflicts, and maintaining clear lines of communication with stakeholders.
