Description:
The Polisher is responsible for ensuring all glassware is properly cleaned, polished, and prepared for service in accordance with company and brand standards. This role supports bar and service operations by maintaining proper inventory levels of polished glassware and assisting team members as needed to ensure smooth service flow. The Polisher must work with attention to detail, care, and consistency to uphold presentation and sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Polish and maintain glassware to established standards, ensuring all items are clean, spotless, and service-ready
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with all health and safety guidelines
- Proactively anticipate and support the needs of Bartenders and service team members
- Ensure all polishing and support stations are properly stocked and prepared to meet business demands
- Handle glassware with care to prevent breakage and maintain inventory control
- Sort, inspect, and organize glassware to ensure only clean, polished, and undamaged items are returned to service
- Maintain appropriate par levels of polished glassware to support service demands throughout the shift
- Communicate inventory shortages, breakage trends, and operational concerns to management as needed
- Assist with additional side work and support duties as assigned to promote efficient front-of-house and bar operations
Qualifications
- Strong multitasking skills with a dependable and diligent work ethic
- Maintain a clean, polished, and professional appearance
- Ability to anticipate operational needs and support service flow
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a full-service dining or hospitality environment preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify cleanliness, presentation, and quality concerns
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain productivity in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Current Food Handler and ServSafe certifications preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time during scheduled shifts
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, and transport racks of glassware, storage containers, and other operational supplies throughout the facility
- Ability to move throughout all areas of the restaurant, including bars, service stations, storage areas, dishwashing areas, and receiving areas as applicable
- Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements while handling, polishing, inspecting, and organizing glassware throughout scheduled shifts
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently and up to 85 pounds on occasion
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to noise, moisture, cleaning chemicals, and varying temperatures
