Club Manager – Pete DyePosition Description


POSITION SUMMARY


The Clubhouse Manager is responsible for overseeing and providing direction in all aspects of management of the Clubhouse, including golf operations, course maintenance, customer service, food and beverage, accounting and budgeting, PGA WEST services and standards. This position places intense focus on public relations and customer service to ensure that all members and guests are satisfied with their experience.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED


  • Degree in golf course management, business administration, hotel and restaurant management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years management experience at a club, and significant hospitality industry experience, such as hotel, resort, restaurant, retail or sports management.
  • Knowledge of F&B
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial management principles including financial analysis, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, capital projects, audits, business office organization and long-range financial planning.
  • Knowledge of building and facilities management in the areas of preventive maintenance, clubhouse/building remodeling and renovation, contractors, energy and water resource management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Works well under pressure; ability to work unsupervised at times as well as being able to work as part of a team

  • ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Responsible for all golf operations to include outing sales and execution, merchandise sales and inventory control, tournament operations, member relations, budgeting, forecasting and financial accountability.
  • Responsible for staffing and personnel supervision of golf shop assistant professionals and golf shop attendants.
  • Prepare annual reviews of key personnel on their performance.
  • Develops operating policies and procedures and delegates goals to department managers and conducts weekly staff meetings with assistant pros, bag attendants, locker room attendants, cart attendants.
  • Represents Club in PGA sponsored golf functions with the approval of the Manager as time permits. Must focus these efforts with the goal of maintaining PGA status.
  • Respond to the needs of patrons, including diffusing and resolving disputes or complaints and filling out incidence reports as and when necessary.
  • Ensure a safe environment for patrons and uphold the company OS&H policies and procedures.
  • Securing and protecting the club’s assets, including facilities and equipment.
  • Directs upkeep and repair of all facility buildings. Assists and advises employer with long-range plans for improvements to the facility.
  • Monitors operation of golf programs, including teaching, scheduling, tournaments, locker rooms, driving range, cart rentals, and pro shop retail.
  • Ensures that sound relationships are maintained between staff, guests, and members, and that proper consideration is given to guest and member complaints and suggestions.
