Job Description
Pyramid Paving & Contracting Co. is seeking a Traffic Regulator (flag person) to join our team!
This position includes a robust benefits package after one year of service.
It is a full-time position with a seasonal layoff.
High potential for overtime.
No experience necessary. On the job training will be provided.

Job will begin immediately upon completion of background and drug screening.
Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
(Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. It does not imply that all positions within the class perform all of the duties listed, nor does it necessarily list all possible duties that may be assigned.)
• Implement proper traffic control measures to ensure the safety of the public and your team;
• Use radio equipment and stop/slow paddle to regulate traffic flow through road construction zones;
• Set up and break down traffic control equipment;
• Use a variety of hand tools in compliance with the Company's safety policies and procedures;
• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on commercial/road construction projects;
• Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner. Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse;
• Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman or HR Manager;
• Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation.
Individuals who meet the following qualifications for this position will be considered:
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from job sites up to 100 miles from each plant;
• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions;
• Willingness to work overtime, including early start and late end times and weekends;
• Good hand and foot coordination;
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Good troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
