Registered Nurse (RN) - Program Coordinator Chest Pain/Stroke - Full-time, Days - MAGNET Hospital, Level III Trauma Center

Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Days

Here's what you need

• Bachelor's Degree Nursing Required

• Master's Degree Nursing Preferred

• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required

• SCRN - Stroke Certified Registered Nurse or other nursing professional certification Upon Hire Preferred

• 3 Years Med/Surg, Emergency or Critical Care Required

• 3 Years Emergency or Critical Care Preferred

The successful Chest Pain Center /Stroke Program Coordinator will have the following skills:

• Effective leadership and strong interpersonal skills

• Verbal and written skills in English

• Advanced knowledge of current professional and health care issues and nursing practice

• Must have general computer skills and a working knowledge of electronic heath records, MS Office, Outlook and the Internet.

What you will do:

• Analyzes data, distributes reports to appropriate team members and administrators

• Manage data collection

• Establishes and maintains a multi-disciplinary CQI program to include morbidity/mortality review

• Assists in establishing standards of care, policies, and objectives of stroke/chest pain services

• Establishes and Maintains Appropriate Special Programs Designation

• Fulfills the standards for chest pain and stroke care as required by the appropriate surveying agencies, (i.e., Texas DSHS and Joint Commission)

• Collaborates with chart abstraction team to ensure accuracy and timely reporting

• Coordinates and facilitates provision of educational opportunities for staff, physicians, patients, external providers of care, and the community

• Identifies relevant areas, initiates projects and participates on performance improvement teams

• Represents department in a positive manner to hospital/system/community

• Maintains current and active participation in professional organizations

• Works effectively and productively with all members of the patient care team as well as family members/significant others and pre-hospitalization stakeholders

• Collaborates with medical and administrative leaders to ensure positive relationships with local EMS agencies

• Oversees and facilitates care and follow-up of patients
