Schedule: Approximately 20–25 hours per week
Assignment: Initial 90-day temporary assignment, with potential for extension or permanent employment
Pay: $20–$27 per hour, depending on experience
The Washington Group is seeking a dependable and organized Part-Time Recruiting & HR Assistant to support our Human Resources team with recruiting, candidate communication, onboarding coordination, and general HR administrative responsibilities.
The primary focus of this position will be recruiting and candidate engagement. The ideal candidate is comfortable communicating with applicants by phone, text, email, and online recruiting platforms and can manage multiple candidates and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This is a great opportunity for someone with recruiting and human resources experience who enjoys working with people and helping move candidates through the hiring process.
Key ResponsibilitiesRecruiting & Candidate Engagement- Post and maintain job advertisements on approved recruiting platforms and social media.
- Review applications and resumes for basic qualifications.
- Contact candidates by phone, text, email, and recruiting platforms.
- Conduct initial candidate outreach and phone screens as directed.
- Schedule interviews with candidates and hiring managers.
- Maintain consistent communication and follow-up with candidates.
- Follow up with candidates who have not completed required hiring steps.
- Maintain an organized candidate pipeline and recruiting tracker.
- Assist with recruiting campaigns, hiring events, and job fairs.
- Research and identify additional recruiting sources and community partnerships.
- Communicate onboarding instructions to selected candidates.
- Follow up on incomplete onboarding requirements.
- Assist with scheduling orientations and required training.
- Coordinate with HR and Operations regarding new-hire start dates.
- Assist with new-hire paperwork and personnel documentation.
- Follow up with new hires during their first days and weeks of employment as assigned.
- Assist the HR Manager with routine administrative tasks.
- Maintain HR trackers, spreadsheets, and reports.
- Prepare, organize, scan, file, and maintain HR documents.
- Assist with employee record updates and data entry.
- Support employee file audits and document collection.
- Assist with employee communications and HR notices.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.
- Assist with creating job flyers, recruiting graphics, and hiring announcements.
- Support recruiting-related social media content.
- Assist with employer branding and recruiting campaigns.
- Help identify opportunities to promote open positions within the local community.
- Assist with outreach to workforce organizations, schools, community organizations, and employment programs.
- Help coordinate recruiting events and job fairs.
- Previous recruiting, staffing, or HR experience is a must.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Professional and dependable work ethic.
- Comfortable communicating by phone, email, text, and online platforms.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Experience recruiting hourly or part-time employees.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems, HRIS, or recruiting platforms.
- Experience with social media or digital marketing.
- Experience creating recruiting materials using Canva or similar platforms.
- Experience working in janitorial, facilities, hospitality, staffing, construction, or other service industries.
This is primarily an office/administrative position with occasional travel to company locations, recruiting events, job fairs, or community outreach activities.
The position may involve frequent phone, email, text, and computer-based communication. Recruiting needs may fluctuate, and occasional schedule adjustments may be necessary to support interviews, hiring events, or urgent recruiting needs.
