Light Composites, Inc. is an AS9100-certified manufacturer of advanced composite structures for aerospace, defense, and medical customers, located in Poway, CA. Our machine shop is core to what we do: CNC-machined aluminum tooling for composite molding, plus trim and finish machining of carbon fiber parts.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

- Setup and operation of 3-axis CNC vertical machining centers (Haas)

- Machining aluminum mold tooling and fixtures to tight tolerances

- Trim and finish machining of carbon fiber composite parts

- Reading engineering drawings and GD&T; in-process inspection with standard metrology tools

- Daily machine upkeep and a clean, organized work area

- Flagging tooling and program issues early - before they become scrap

WHAT YOU BRING

- 2+ years of CNC setup and operation experience (vertical machining centers preferred)

- Ability to set up a machine independently: workholding, work offsets, tool offsets

- Comfortable reading prints and holding tolerances

- Composites machining experience a plus - we will train the right machinist

- CAM experience (Fusion 360 a plus)

- A bias for the floor: we hire problem solvers, not spectators

REQUIREMENTS

- High school diploma or GED

- Reliable transportation to and from work

- Legally authorized to work in the United States; must be a U.S. Person under ITAR (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident)

- Punctual, dependable attendance; occasional overtime as production requires

- Commitment to safety practices and required PPE

- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation

- Successful completion of background check and drug screen

COMPENSATION

$26.00 - $34.00 per hour, depending on experience. Full-time, on-site in Poway, CA.
