Job Description

Digital Authentication Associate

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Digital Authentication Associate based in the United States.

This is an opportunity to join a specialized authentication team focused on protecting customers and maintaining trust in a curated fashion marketplace.
You will review designer apparel and footwear listings to determine authenticity, accuracy, condition, and marketplace eligibility.
The role combines detailed product knowledge with investigative thinking, requiring you to identify inconsistencies, manipulated imagery, and evolving counterfeit techniques.
You will also contribute to training, mentorship, authentication resources, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen team-wide accuracy and consistency.
Success in this role depends on strong judgment, attention to detail, adaptability, and a genuine passion for designer fashion and culture.
You’ll work closely with authentication and operations teams in a collaborative, metrics-driven environment where quality and efficiency are equally important.
This is a remote, part-time opportunity requiring 20–30 hours per week, including scheduled weekends and holidays.

Accountabilities:
  • Review and authenticate designer apparel and footwear listings before products are approved for sale.
  • Identify and remove unsafe, inaccurate, or non-compliant listings that do not meet marketplace standards.
  • Verify product details including size, condition, accessories, colorway, release information, and category.
  • Detect inconsistencies, manipulated photographs, inaccurate descriptions, and other indicators of potentially inauthentic products.
  • Respond to community and marketing requests requiring additional item moderation or authentication review.
  • Analyze authentication defect reports to understand how inauthentic products may have passed through the process and help identify corrective actions.
  • Stay current on designer authentication techniques, product releases, fashion trends, and evolving counterfeit methods.
  • Participate in training and mentorship sessions to deepen authentication expertise and share knowledge with other team members.
  • Host training or mentoring sessions and contribute to the development of authentication guides, resources, and hard checkpoints.
  • Monitor how authentication decisions and workload affect defect rates, service-level agreements, quality, and operational performance.
  • Support initiatives designed to improve authentication consistency, accuracy, efficiency, and overall team performance.
  • Contribute to broader team objectives and company initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and strong interest in designer clothing, footwear, fashion culture, and current trends.
  • Background expertise across designer apparel and footwear, with familiarity with brands such as Balenciaga, Vetements, Stone Island, Gallery Dept., Alexander McQueen, Amiri, Golden Goose, Balmain, and similar luxury or contemporary labels.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to make accurate, consistent authentication decisions.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new authentication techniques, and independently solve problems.
  • Excellent judgment and professionalism when handling sensitive, confidential, or non-public information.
  • Enthusiasm for the fashion resale community and familiarity with the relevant marketplace or similar platforms; experience as an active or power user is a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to participate in team meetings, knowledge sharing, and frequent cross-functional collaboration.
  • A proactive mindset and commitment to ownership, empathy, continuous improvement, solution-oriented thinking, and community-focused work.
  • Ability to work effectively against accuracy, productivity, and quality metrics.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring employment sponsorship.
  • Availability to work 20–30 hours per week, including scheduled weekends and holidays.
  • Availability to attend team meetings and collaborate regularly with colleagues in a remote environment.
Benefits
  • Hiring rate: $21 USD per hour.
  • Remote, part-time work arrangement.
  • 401(k) retirement benefits.
  • Paid time off.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance options.
  • Disability insurance options.
  • Life insurance options.
  • Opportunity to develop specialized expertise in designer fashion authentication and contribute to authentication standards and processes.
  • Collaborative environment focused on knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and community-driven work.
