TransPerfect Connect is seeking highly fluent, professional bilingual speakers with experience using their language skills in a professional call center-style setting. Paid training is provided to launch a career as an Over-the-Phone (OPI) and Video Remote Interpreter (VRI), serving clients in healthcare, legal, and financial services. This is a structured, call center-style role conducted from home, with continuous live calls, strict interpretation protocols, neutrality, accuracy, and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide consecutive interpretation between English and Spanish across industries (medical, legal, customer service, etc.)

2. Ensure complete accuracy, clarity, and neutrality, preserving tone, intent, and emotion

3. Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times

4. Manage call flow professionally, including respectfully intervening when clarification is needed

5. Demonstrate emotional intelligence in high-pressure or emotionally charged interactions

6. Apply short-term memory retention, active listening, and note-taking techniques

7. Remain strictly within the interpreter's role without offering personal opinions or advice

8. Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and feedback sessions

9. Use basic computer tools (MS Office, internal platforms) to manage calls and log activity

Required Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)

- Fluency in English and Spanish, B2+ proficiency or higher

- Ability to pass a language and interpreting skills assessment

- Minimum 6 months of call center, customer service, or interpreting experience

- Strong verbal communication, bilingual accuracy, and ethical decision making

- Basic computer skills, including typing and MS Office navigation

- Quiet, distraction-free workspace and stable home internet (cable, DSL, or fiber; no cellular or hotspot)

- Pre-employment background check required

Preferred Qualifications

- Certification in medical, legal, or community interpreting

- Experience with remote work tools and communication platforms

Remote Work Requirements

- Windows or Mac desktop/laptop with at least 16GB RAM, no older than 5 years, with working webcam

- Windows 10 or newer / macOS Big Sur (11) or newer

- Broadband internet, minimum 30 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload

Please Note

This is a remote position but not a flexible role. Interpreters follow a pre-published, variable schedule, remain at their workstation, and handle continuous back-to-back calls. Breaks and lunch are assigned by Workforce Management.
