Key Responsibilities:

- Assist consumers with routine daily activities to promote independence in accordance with their personalized recovery plans.

- Use written instructions and modeling techniques to facilitate the development of independent living skills.

- Familiarize yourself with specific direct care interventions as outlined in treatment plans or counseling staff guidance.

- Employ crisis prevention and intervention methods to manage difficult behaviors effectively and safely.

- Engage consumers in assessing their performance of independent living skills, utilizing simple surveys or ADL skills questionnaires to evaluate progress.

- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and consumer progress.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent and effective support tailored to each consumer’s needs.

- Promote a respectful, supportive, and safe environment for all consumers.

Skills and Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in behavioral health or related fields preferred.

- Prior experience in direct care, behavioral health, or a related setting is advantageous.

- Knowledge of crisis prevention and intervention techniques.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to follow detailed instructions and treatment plans.

- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support individuals in their recovery journey.

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
