Job Description
JOB OVERVIEW
Responsible for the overall performance of service staff as well as processes that go into successfully running a restaurant, including front of the house, administrative, alcohol, and financial responsibilities. This position will be responsible for planning and directing all front-of-house operations, maintaining high standards of food, service, health, and safety, ensuring the efficient and profitable business performance of the restaurant, and the optimal utilization of staff and resources. The Restaurant Supervisor has a wide variety of duties to accomplish daily. The position requires someone who is organized, professional, and most importantly, a strong and compassionate leader.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Regular opening and closing activities
• Document any necessary shift information
• Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections
• Ensure all hourly staff arrive on time and clock in with the appropriate job department and code
• Document late or absent employees
• Assign FOH staff to appropriate sections and work groups according to scheduled hours
• Communicate with the back of house on any specials, inventory issues, etc.
• Knowledge of all activities and amenities of The Sandbar
• Ensure that safe and appropriate accommodations for patrons and employees are maintained
• Always maintain positive guest relations
• Be informed of and enforce standard operating procedures for all FOH positions
• Monitor all aspects of food and beverage handling safety
• Be involved in training for current, returning, or new staff members for their respective positions, including safety, procedure, pace, knowledge, and skill sets necessary for such positions
• Conflict resolution and crisis management for any emergency, complaint, or error
• Keep positive relationships between all patrons and staff members
• Ensure all payment methods are secured correctly and that all cash is kept in appropriate locations
• Carry out office-related tasks such as daily paperwork, interoffice communication, and assisting the GM and AGM with any other duties as reasonably requested
