South Florida Same Day Surgery Center (SFSDSC) is a premier ambulatory surgery center dedicated to delivering safe, high-quality outpatient surgical care. Our experienced physicians and healthcare professionals combine advanced technology with compassionate, patient-centered service to provide exceptional outcomes in a welcoming environment.
What You'll Do
As a Medical Receptionist, you'll serve as the first point of contact for patients while providing administrative support that helps ensure efficient front office operations and an outstanding patient experience.
- Welcome patients and complete check-in, check-out, and registration.
- Collect co-pays, deposits, and required patient documentation.
- Prepare new patient paperwork, insurance forms, and privacy notices.
- Create, maintain, and organize patient charts and electronic medical records.
- Utilize EMR systems to support daily clinical and administrative workflows.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls professionally.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Proactively fill open appointment times by offering earlier appointments when cancellations occur.
- Schedule follow-up appointments and document exceptions as needed.
- Obtain and record patient histories, vital signs, and test results while maintaining confidentiality.
- Prepare examination rooms and support patient flow.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and facility policies while completing required annual training.
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an administrative role.
- Minimum of one (1) year of hands-on experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or ambulatory surgery setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, office procedures, and medical record management.
- Delivers exceptional customer service with professionalism and compassion.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
- Maintains organization and accuracy while managing multiple priorities.
- Works independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Protects patient confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and sound organizational skills.
