Because We Invest in YOU!
At Brewtopia, it's more than coffee — it's about building the people infrastructure that powers disciplined growth.
As one of the fastest-growing 7 Brew franchise groups in the country, our ability to open stands, protect culture, and scale without chaos depends on the strength of our HR function. This is a builder's role: the person in this seat will own HR end-to-end for a company scaling from a handful of stands toward 100+, across multiple states.
Your Mission
We are looking for an experienced HR Director who has led an entire HR function — not a piece of one — and knows how to build scalable people infrastructure that grows with a fast-moving, multi-unit business. This leader will set strategic direction for HR, directly lead the HR team (HR Manager, HR Business Partners, Recruiters, Payroll, Benefits & Compensation, and Compliance), and own the systems and vendor relationships that keep HR running without owner involvement. This role reports to the COO and is based out of the Southfield, Michigan corporate office.
Key Responsibilities
- Own enterprise-wide HR strategy and execution across Michigan, New York, and future markets.
- Directly lead and develop the full HR organization — HR Manager(s), HR Business Partners, Recruiters, Payroll, Benefits & Compensation, and Compliance — as one connected function, not siloed teams.
- Serve as the senior HR partner to executive leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, talent strategy, and employee relations.
- Own the HR vendor ecosystem — Payroll, HRIS, Benefits, 401(k), insurance carriers, and compliance vendors — including sourcing, negotiating, and implementing vendor relationships that scale with the company.
- Own compliance across all active and future jurisdictions: federal, Michigan, New York, wage & hour, EEOC, workers' compensation, unemployment, and regulatory audits.
- Set HR department goals, priorities, and KPIs, and hold the HR team accountable to them.
- Own leadership development, succession planning, performance management, policy development, and HR SOPs.
- Partner with Operations, Finance, and Development to keep people strategy aligned with growth plans.
- Report HR metrics and organizational trends to executive leadership and use them to drive continuous improvement in retention, engagement, hiring quality, and compliance.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is an HR executive who has built and led a complete Human Resources function inside a rapidly growing, multi-unit organization — not managed a single HR discipline or division. This person leads through leaders, balances strategic ownership with hands-on execution, and has real experience selecting and managing the outside vendors that make a lean HR team punch above its weight.
Requirements:Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.
- Proven experience leading an entire Human Resources department — including direct ownership of HR Managers, HR Business Partners, Recruiters, Payroll, Compliance, Benefits & Compensation, and all other HR functions — ideally for an entire company or organization, not a division or single HR vertical.
- Strong familiarity with the landscape of third-party vendors supporting the HR function (e.g., Payroll, HRIS, Benefits, 401(k), insurance carriers, compliance vendors), with a demonstrated ability to source, negotiate, and implement effective vendor relationships.
- Strong Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) experience supporting executive leadership and organizational strategy.
- Experience within a fast-paced, high-growth QSR, retail, hospitality, or multi-unit organization experiencing rapid expansion.
- Extensive knowledge of federal employment law and practical experience with Michigan and New York employment laws and regulations.
- Experience managing government agencies, labor departments, EEOC matters, unemployment, workers' compensation, wage and hour compliance, and regulatory audits.
- Strong knowledge of recruiting, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, training and development, and HR operations.
- Proven ability to build, coach, and develop high-performing HR teams while creating scalable HR systems and processes.
- Demonstrated success balancing strategic leadership with operational execution in a growing organization.
- Must be located in Michigan or willing to relocate to Michigan.
What You'll Get
- Compensation based on experience.
- Performance bonus opportunity.
- Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance.
- 401(k) with company match.
- Paid Time Off.
- Professional development and career growth opportunities.
- A seat at the table in one of the fastest-growing 7 Brew franchise organizations in the country.
